We are a multicultural church affiliated with the German District of the Assemblies of God.
If you live in the Tacoma, WA area or are visiting in the area, please join us for one of our services. We pray that the power of the Holy Spirit will move mightily and meet your needs as you worship in our midst.
We have separate German & English services throughout the month, with the German service at 9:30 and the English at 11:00 every Sunday except the last Sunday of each month, and designated Special Events, which will be combined German / English service and is held at 10:30 am.
The history of our church has a unique beginning. Since the late sixties German immigrants from the greater Tacoma-Puyallup areas met for German language services. Many of our church pioneers were immigrants from Germany and Russia, who had come over from Germany in the early fifties. Under the leadership of Pastor Werner Gunia, who is now a retired pastor of a full gospel church in Bremen, Germany, the property was purchased and the church was erected at its current site in 1975-1976. The sanctuary was completed during the winter months of 1976, and our church was officially dedicated in March of 1977. Many dignitaries from the local German speaking community, including the German Consul, were present at the dedication service. Another milestone in the lives of these refugee-pioneers had been accomplished. Their dream of having a church building in this country had been realized. In 1979 the church services became bilingual. Currently services are held on Sunday in German at 9:30 and in English at 11:00. Since 1979, many lives from our neighborhood and the greater Waller Road area have been touched and changed by the power of the Gospel, in the English as well as the German services. Many founders of this local congregation have since gone to be with the Lord.
